Is It Time To Paint? Your Weatherboard Painters

Bespoke Artisan Weatherboard Exterior Painters. Brunswick

If you think it’s time to paint your weatherboard, then your friends have thought it for a long time! Time to hire your weatherboard painters.

Now that the BBQ season is just about over, it’s time to get your home painted, and ready for next year.  We know it’s a social whirl, and impressions count. Has your weatherboard been letting you down? Does it show you up? Is it still in last years colours?

Shabby chic is not ‘in’ anymore, it’s not the 90’s. Peeling, blistering paint isn’t cool. We know it. Design magazines know it. Your friends know it, and they’ve been talking behind your back about your dated weatherboard house.

    Traditional Master Painters

We at Sterling Painters only apply the world famous boutique Dulux Weathershield on weatherboards. Using time honoured techniques handed down generation to generation, father to son, such as sanding and painting. We’ll use buzzwords like small batch, fluid, stone ground and hand finished. We’ll even grow beards and stroke them whilst admiring our handywork.

Soon, you’ll be the envy of your friends. They’ll still talk behind your back, obviouly, but you can be safe in the knowledge that it’s just jealously.

    Retail Painting. South Melbourne

So now we know where to get our Thorogood Boots from. South Melbourne, incase you weren’t in the know! ‘Retail’ Painting and we’ll ‘re-tell’ you where to go!

Occasionally we get asked to paint retail spaces, exhibition sites etc, it’s good to keep things fresh and broaden your horizons. More details Sterling Retail Painters.

Painting a commercial space is always a little forward thinking. Newer ideas are generally used, this isn’t someone’s home afterall. And as so, sometimes the interior designer has pushed the boat out. We’ve painted offices too, however these can be much more sober. Because working in a bright and fucky space maybe too much for some!

Yes we know that one of the paints is Antique White USA. But the Symphony Red, well we don’t use that everyday. Working with such viabrant paint colours can be problematic, and can result in many coats of paint. Why? Because it all depends on the base of the paint it’s made from. Yes there are many different base colours, not just white, that the end colours are made from .

    Exterior Painting, Paints Used:

    • Dulux Weathershield low sheen Symphony Red.
    • Dulux Weathershield low sheen Antique White USA.
    • A custom stain was used on the door.

    Detailed Painting Quotes

Now let me get this right you’re going to give a man lots of money for a figure on a piece of scrap paper! Where’s your Painting Quotes?

Or here’s the one I love, he’s got a calculator and punched in some numbers, taken a deep sharp intake of breath, and shows it to you looking disgusted in the opposite direction, tutting!

Here’s what HAS to be on a painting quote:

    Contractors complete details. i.e.
    Name
    Address
    Home phone
    Mobile phone
    ABN

    Clients full details, that’s you.

    All Painting Quotes should include:

    1.  Scope of works. This clearly identifies items to be painted i.e. walls, ceiling, windows, doors etc

    2.  Specification. This section identifies areas such as the Preparation required i.e. Sanding, filling of holes and indentations. The quote should also state if previous coatings need to be removed to obtain a sound surface before repainting and does the surface need to be washed down? i.e kitchen, wood work etc
This section should also include the number of coats to be applied, type of paint to be
Used, colour required, and the selected gloss level.

    3.  Exclusions. This section identifies what is not to be painted and is just as important as the Scope of Works.

    4.  Insurance. Contractors must have Public Liability and Personnel Accident Insurance.
This is for your protection in case something goes wrong.

It is important that you sight their current Certificate of Compliance.

    5.  GST. Must be included in the final quotation amount

What to look for in a Professional Painter in Melbourne?

    What is a Professional Painter?

What is a professional painter? Now there’s a question!

Neat and tidy or looking like a can of paint has exploded over them! In my mind the answer is simple, if the painter has paint all over them then chances are there’s paint all over your house, and not just the bits you wanted painted!

Surely if you want a neat and tidy paint job you employ the neat and tidy painter. It’s your house. Simple.

However, there is a bit more to it than that:

Unfortunately Painting is a career that most people think they can simple just do. I walked passed Bunnings once – therefore I’m a painter!

Qualifications and Experience really do matter, as in any business. You should always check on these things. Ask the questions.

Now I’m a member of the Master Painters Association, which means I have to be Qualified, Experienced and Insured…

Insurance: Now the thing with life, stuff does happen that you didn’t want to! Insurance means it’s much less hassle. See first paragraph for example.
